Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans change. Below is our standard cancellation structure for Bhutan travel programs.
Deposit Policy
A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking. This deposit secures permits, accommodations, guide services, and Bhutan government requirements.
- Deposit amount is typically 30% of total trip cost.
- Permit processing begins only after deposit confirmation.
- Deposit is non-refundable except in specific force majeure cases (see below).
Standard Cancellation Fees
Cancellation penalties are based on the number of days prior to arrival in Bhutan.
| Days Before Arrival | Cancellation Fee |
|---|---|
| 60+ days | Deposit retained |
| 59 – 30 days | 50% of total trip cost |
| 29 – 15 days | 75% of total trip cost |
| 14 days or less | 100% of total trip cost |
Peak Season & Festival Bookings
For trips scheduled during major Bhutan festivals or peak travel seasons (Spring and Autumn), stricter cancellation conditions may apply due to limited hotel availability and high demand.
- Luxury hotel bookings may carry separate penalties.
- Festival-period cancellations may incur higher fees.
- We will clearly outline any adjusted terms before confirmation.
Government Fees & SDF
Bhutan’s Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) and government visa charges are regulated by Bhutan authorities.
- SDF refunds are subject to Bhutan government regulations.
- Visa processing fees may be non-refundable once submitted.
- We will assist with all official refund procedures when applicable.
Force Majeure
In the event of natural disasters, political instability, flight cancellations beyond control, or government travel restrictions, alternative arrangements or credits may be offered.
- Credits may be applied toward future travel.
- Refunds depend on third-party vendor policies.
- Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
