1) Deposit to confirm
A deposit is required to confirm your booking and begin reservation and permit work.
The deposit is applied toward your total trip cost.
- Typical deposit: 30% of total trip cost
- Deposit confirms dates, route, and accommodation planning
- Permit processing typically begins after deposit is received
Deposit terms and refundability are governed by the cancellation policy.
2) Final balance due
The remaining balance is due prior to arrival to allow time for confirmations,
ticketing coordination (if applicable), and government processing.
- Typical final payment due: 30 days before arrival
- Luxury stays, festival dates, and peak seasons may require earlier final payment
- Late payments may affect hotel availability and permits
3) Accepted payment methods
Payment options can depend on your location and the supplier used for Bhutan services.
Your invoice will specify the exact method(s) available.
- Typical options: bank transfer / wire
- Card payments may be possible in some cases (processing fees may apply)
- All payment instructions are provided on your invoice
Security note:
Always confirm payment details from our official invoice email before sending funds.
4) Government fees (Visa + SDF)
Bhutan’s Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) and visa processing fees are regulated and may be
required as part of trip confirmation. Refunds are subject to official rules and timelines.
- SDF/visa charges are handled according to Bhutan government requirements
- Some government charges may be non-refundable after processing begins
- We assist with documentation and refund steps when applicable
5) Pricing, currency, and fees
Your quote will outline the total cost, what is included, and any fees related to payment processing.
- Prices are confirmed in your invoice/quote documentation
- Bank/wire fees charged by your bank are the traveler’s responsibility
- Card processing fees (if used) may be added to the invoice total
6) Changes and amendments
After a trip is confirmed, changes to dates, hotels, or route can impact pricing due to availability,
seasonality, and vendor policies.
- We will confirm any change fees before applying updates
- Hotel upgrades/downgrades may adjust the final balance
- Festival periods can be limited and may require alternative options
7) Travel insurance
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation,
medical coverage, and disruption coverage.
- Insurance can protect you from unexpected cancellations and delays
- Insurance is especially recommended during peak seasons and festival periods
